4" loop dew cleaning rod (14.11.2011)

Used in the shop to clean revolver cylinders and is the perfect size for me, very convenient. I have several for each caliber with a brush on it. Just grab and go. No hunting for the components.

Great for Revolver Cylinders! (25.1.2012)

This is the perfect size & length to run a mop or oil saturated patch through a revolvers' cylinder. Keep em clean, keep em shooting!

Good value (9.10.2014)

This is a good quality little rod. It is just right for a 4 inch barreled revolver or a small 380 handgun. It is well made, with finely machined threads and tip. Not quite long enough for a 5" 45. Very nice piece however.

Ideal for 4" and less barrels (10.10.2015)

These are the only rods I own for my handguns with 4 inch barrels or less. No one else seems to manufacture rods shorter than 6 inch, and most are 8 inch. This 4 inch rod is less awkward to use on short barrel handguns, especially snub revolvers. Much better for cleaning revolver cylinders. Takes up less space in range bags, too.

Threading and finish are high quality, and being brass, they can't harm a bore or crown when used properly. Best if you leave your brush, jag or loop one turn loose, so it can follow the rifling freely.

Does the Job (2.1.2011)

We use these at the range for quick cleaning and they do the job very well. Small and easy to store.

Simple ... perfect (17.8.2014)

I have a couple of these at the bench, which keeps me from having to constantly swap brushes, loops and jags when I'm cleaning different caliber firearms. Rugged and stiff, without the rotating handles of other cleaning rods - which I find of questionable usefulness.

Great for pistol, AR chamber brush (7.2.2010)

This is one of those products that is cheap, simple and works. You can keep a few hanging by the bench loaded with brushes and jags of your most popular calibers. Makes pistol cleaning fast and easy.

Affix an AR15 chamber brush to it and go to work. Because it is just a rod bent into a loop, you can get the nylon or stainless/bronze brush into the locking lug recesses and turn it to break loose carbon and fouling.

Downside? None I can see.

Perfect addition to a kit (21.11.2010)

Added this to my issued cleaning kit. I can use it to clean my pistol barrel, then turn right around and use it to clean the chamber of my M4.

Great for range bag... (12.9.2012)

I got a few for my range bag, one for each size caliber. It comes with a nice brass tip for patch cleaning, but I run an oiled mop through the bore after each box of fifty rounds at the range. Simple.

9-inch length does NOT include the loop (4.12.2014)

Excellent rod and even includes the loop-style patch holder.

This 9-inch rod will clean 9-inch barrels. The length including the loop handle is 11-1/8".

This rod is inexpensive, but not CHEAP. As stated in other reviews, it is stiff so you don't get any buckling as you shove it down the barrel. It's brass, so it won't scratch the lands. The handle obviously doesn't rotate so you can use it to turn a chamber brush (clockwise only) in order to clean out a chamber.

One trick I've learned is to leave the brush, jag, or other end a bit loose when I screw it on. I don't thread it tightly onto the rod. This allows the brush, etc., to turn with the rifling as the tool goes through the barrel.

Highly recommended as an inexpensive, very useful tool.
