Good quality but the strap is short(8.6.2010)
I bought this to attach my VTAC sling to the top of the A2 stock on my AR15. The design is good and its also of good quality but the velcro strap that passes through the plastic slide lock buckle is far too short, it just barely reaches the other velcro part. So far it hasn't come loose, likely thanks to the slide lock buckle, but attaching it is rather a pain since to get any sort of contact between the velcro bits you really have to pull that strap hard. There are probably better options out there.
Works for ATI stocks(30.3.2012)
I put this on a ATI pistol grip stock on a Maverick 88. It looks well made and should work well with a sling requireing a ring. The velcro is a tight fit, but is snug once it is in place. The loop can go up or down, but if it is on top of the stock the velcro will rub your cheek.
Not a bad item(30.5.2012)
The materials and workmanship are good. It fit my 10/22, mini 14, and Winchester Model 94 30-30. But the nylon materials just didn't look right on a classic like the 30-30. It looks like it will slip just a little, so it would probably mar the finish on a wood stock. It could be right at home on a tactical stock.
This adapter does what it's supposed to.(2.5.2013)
This adapter is a good one. Quality material, construction, and a simple design. I have two of these adapters set up and I've shown them to several people. Everyone's cheekweld was well ahead of the straps. No one experienced any strap contact with their cheekweld. Just keep the nylon straps out of the Ultraviolet Sunlight as best you can, and they should last a lifetime. Hey, for the price? Sheesh.
Good to Go.(20.5.2013)
I was recommended this item by a friend and gunsmith, who had it on his Mossberg shotgun. A fan on simplistic slings for my systems, I was very impressed.
It fits a Mossberg 590A1's standard buttstock like a glove. For a front point I have the shotgun sling plate adapter also sold here.
I'm used to running weapons that weigh a lot, and doing it with gear covered body armor, in and out of trucks, day and night, etc; and it has caused me to like simple, lightweight sling setups. This item, said sling plate, and an issued 2pt sling help me sling weapons the way I'm used to, with no real weight added.
No CON's that I've found, whatsoever.
Too Short(23.4.2015)
It was not long enough to properly fit around a normal buttstock. I purchased 1" nylon webbing on Amazon and had my local shoe&luggage repair shop sew in a 6" piece to make it 5" longer.
Viking Buttstock Adapter $10, 10yds Nylon Webbing $12, Labor for repair done in 8 minutes $20. I was happy to pay it to get what I wanted.
Simple to place on your weapon, holds strongly and snugly.
Not what I expected(18.8.2017)
I bought this to go on the A2 buttstock on one of my ARs. When I put it on the strap was not long enough for the male velcro to fully engage the female velcro which makes for a weaker attachment.
